The GHEF Seeks to reduce Global Health Disparities

According to the World Health Organization, at least 1.3 billion people worldwide lack access to the most basic healthcare, with this burden being greatest in countries overwhelmed by poverty. Unfortunately, the health disparities between poor and rich countries continues to grow.

“The Global Health Education Foundation recognizes that there have been many worthy efforts to address healthcare disparities across the world, but that the need for additional initiatives remains,” commented Dr John Mei, GHEF’s CEO and Co-founder. “In particular, the lack of appropriate educational resources and training opportunities for healthcare professionals is one of the major barriers that many nations face in improving healthcare quality.”

“We face a great challenge in achieving our objectives, but I believe that the will exists for us to make a difference,” commented Dr Faiz Kermani, GHEF’s President. “We hope to encourage support from a range of interested parties and harness their talents for dedicated healthcare projects in the global areas that need them most.”

“Through the availability of improving communication technology, and the willingness of highly trained medical professional who are willing to volunteer their time to educate others, GHEF is confident that together the objective of improving healthcare access across the world can be achieved,” added Dr John Mei.

GHEF CEO visits Tanzania

Dear Friends of GHEF,
I recently had the opportunity to visit Tanzania, which was both rewarding and very beneficial. I visited the Tanzania Capital (Dar es Salaam) and the remote area around the "Selous Game Reserve".

In Dar es Salaam, I had opportunity to meet with many medical community leaders, including Professor and Vice-Chancellor, Keto Mshigeni at the Hubert Kairuki Memorial University, and five Presidential Advisors at the Presidential Palace. This included the President’s Personal Advisor in Diplomatic and International Affairs.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement to date.
